Proclamation - Physical Education and Sport Week

Proclamation

WHEREAS, 2005 is the 120th Anniversary of the American Alliance for Health, Physical Education, Recreation and Dance - an educational organization structured for the purpose of supporting, encouraging, and providing assistance to member groups and their personnel throughout the nation as they seek to initiate, develop and conduct programs in health, leisure and movement-related activities for the enrichment of human life; and

WHEREAS, in Idaho, that member group is the Idaho Association of Health, Physical Education, Recreation and Dance; and

WHEREAS, it is fitting to celebrate and focus attention upon all citizens and programs in Idaho, as well as nationally, that promote physical education, sport and fitness in our schools and communities;

NOW, THEREFORE, I, DIRK KEMPTHORNE, Governor of the State of Idaho, do hereby proclaim May 1st through 7th, 2005, to be

PHYSICAL EDUCATION AND SPORT WEEK

in Idaho, and I proclaim "Put On Your Face" to be the theme for this year's events. I encourage our citizens to support and participate in the Idaho Association of Health, Physical Education, Recreation and Dance's 2005-2006 State Convention to be held in Moscow, Idaho on October 6th and 7th, 2005 with the theme, "The Time Is Now: Physical Education, Health, Recreation, and Dance". Further, I urge all Idahoans to promote physical education, sport and fitness in their communities.

IN WITNESS WHEREOF, I have hereunto set my hand and caused to be affixed the Great Seal of the State of Idaho at the Capitol in Boise on this twenty-fifth day of April in the year of our Lord two-thousand and five and of the Independence of the United States of America the two hundred twenty-ninth and of the Statehood of Idaho the one hundred fifteenth.
